Blooming from late July to September, Hibiscus moscheutos prefers full sun and wet to moist soils. Growing 4–6' tall with a 3–4' below-ground spread, it provides habitat for Rose Mallow Bees, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, and Io Moth caterpillars. It is a large, multi-stemmed clump-former that expands below-ground via a widening, woody crown.
