Moisture: Medium to wet soil

Bloom Time in RI: July to August 

Ecological Significance/Pollinators: Only host plant for the monarch caterpillar, attracts other butterflies, moths, bees, wasps, and beetles. 

Spreading Habit: Height 2-5', Spread 2-3'  

Seed Provence: The original Eco59 ecotype seed was collected in Brookfield, CT, by the Ecotype Project. That seed was grown out at The Hickories in Ridgefield, CT, for F1 seeds, which were germinated and grown in East Greenwich, RI.

Habitat: Marshes, meadows and fields, shores of rivers or lakes, swamps, wetland margins (Wetland Code OBL)
