Ecological Significance/Pollinators: Pink-patched looper moth (E. thyatyroides), the columbine borer moth (P. leucostigma), and the columbine duskywing skipper (E. lucilius). Red columbine provides a nectar source for hummingbirds and various pollinators, including bumble bees (Bombus) and sweat bees (Halictidae); food source for finches and buntings

Spreading Habit: Height 2-3', Spread 1-1.5'; colonizes by self-seeding 

Seed Provence: Original collection site: Germantown, NY.

Habitat: Adaptable to open woodlands and craggy outcrops with good drainage, prefers full sun and dry conditions.
