Ecological Significance/Pollinators: Attracts butterflies and is the larval host of the common buckeye and Baltimore checkerspot moths 

Spreading Habit: Height 2-3'

Seed Provence: Original ecotype collected in Bethel, CT. Grown out at The Hickories in Ridgefield, CT

Habitat: Fresh tidal marshes or flats, marshes, shores of rivers or lakes, swamps, wetland margins (Wetland code OBL)
